John B. Pike, an immigrant from Holland, established himself in downtown Rochester, New York as a carpenter contractor specializing in fine millwork.

1907

John B. Pike & Son, Inc. moves its office to Circle Street, Rochester, New York. This location remains as the corporate headquarters today.

1915

John D. Pike begins serving as President of John B. Pike & Son.

1927

John B. Pike & Son, Inc. builds the Rochester Savings Bank. Later it became the first historical landmark declared in Rochester, New York.

1929

John B. Pike & Son, Inc. builds the Medical Arts Building in Rochester, New York, which was the first medical office building in the city. The build was owned and developed by John D. Pike.

1953

John B. Pike & Son, Inc. builds the Asbury First United Methodist Church.

1955

James A. Reed begins serving as President of John B. Pike & Son, Inc.

1962

John B. Pike & Son, Inc. completes the construction of Midtown Plaza in Rochester, New York. The structure was the first indoor urban mall in the United States.

1968

Thomas F. Judson, Sr. becomes President of John B. Pike & Son, Inc., serving until 1975.

1975

Thomas F. Judson, Jr. becomes Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of John B. Pike & Son, Inc.

1982

John B. Pike & Son, Inc. completes work at Duke University.

1983

John B. Pike & Son, Inc. completes the Energy and Motion Pavilions at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.

1985

Thomas F. Judson, Jr. establishes The Pike Company, Inc.

1996

Pike opens an New York Capital Region office located in Clifton Park, New York.

2001

Stephen J. Shuckra begins serving as President of The Pike Company.

2005

Pike completes Consolidated Edison's East River Repowering Project in New York City. At $650 million, it was the largest project the company had worked on.

2006

The Pike Company provides its first M/WBE training program, Steps to Success.

2007

The City of Rochester's Water Operations Center becomes the first LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold Certified building in Rochester, and the first municipal building in all of New York State to earn LEED Gold Certification. Pike provided construction management services for the project.

2008

Pike is awarded a AGC NYS Build New York Award for the Rehabilitation of the Albert R. Mann Library at Cornell University.

2009

Pike completes the first federal paperless project, the United States Land Port of Entry in Champlain, New York. Pike provided construction management services for the project.

2012

The Pike Company celebrates the rebirth of Midtown after being awarded to build the Seneca Building, which will provide office space for Windstream. The original Midtown Plaza was also constructed by Pike in 1962.

2013

The Pike Company wins the AGC NYS Build New York Award for the Rehabilitation of the Route 5 Bridge Over Eighteen Mile Creek.

2014

Mauricio Riveros, Pike's Chief Innovation Officer, is named Hispanic Business Person of the Year.

2015

Rufus M. Judson is named CEO of The Pike Companies, LTD.

2017

Bill Tehan is promoted to President of The Pike Company, Inc.

2018

The Pike Company is named one of the Best Companies to Work for in New York State for the eighth year in a row.

Following the Civil War, John B. Pike became a carpentry contractor and established a tradition of solid craftsmanship and rugged honesty. He built the foundation upon which today’s Pike Company was built, and, after fourteen decades, The Pike Company ardently adheres to the values of its founder—honesty, hard work and quality.

Thomas F. Judson, Jr. began as President in 1975 and today serves as Chairman. In 2011, the fifth generation of family leadership began with the election of Rufus M. Judson to the office of President.
