Gideon Putnam Hotel and Spa
The Gideon Putnam Hotel and Spa was originally built in 1803, and is now owned by New York State Parks. Under stewardship by Delaware North Companies, renovations and improvements of this historic property are programmed in stages over the length of their 20 year agreement. Pike has been selected to provide construction services for this 20 year agreement.
Improvements to this point have included: renovations to the lobby including polishing of the existing marble floor and painting; construction of a new gift shop in a previously unused space; renovations to the existing dining area, construction of a new bar and replacement of the main hood, make-up air, and walk in coolers; construction of new office spaces from previously used storage areas; new carpeting in the guest rooms; and ballroom renovations inclusive of the adjacent pre-function lobby and restroom area. All work has been completed while the hotel remained operational.
Future improvements include: roof replacements; refurbishment of exterior moldings including windows, soffit, fascia and ornamental railings; changing the existing elevator from a lever controlled freight elevator to a modern passenger car elevator; and mechanical upgrades to increase efficiency and meet today’s codes.
