Livingston County Jail
Pike served as the construction manager for the renovation and expansion of the Livingston County Jail. The scope of work included the renovation of the 47,000 SF jail facility, as well as the addition of a five-story, 54,000 SF stand alone annex. The annex is a freestanding precast concrete building connected to the existing jail via a ninety-five foot precast concrete walk bridge. The project was completed in two phases, building the addition and connecting annex first, followed by the renovation of the existing facility.
The completed jail contains 19 existing and 96 new single occupancy cells, and 24 new double occupancy cells. Each pod has exercise rooms, a multi-purpose area used for counseling and visiting, as well as storage areas. The new facility also includes a classroom, an intake garage, booking area, clothing exchange, inmate property, laundry, a staff only dining area, and an area for trustees. A new full service commercial kitchen is four times larger than the previous facility. The facility utilizes state-of-the-art security including biometric card readers, 330 cameras, and touch screen security computers in the center of each pod.
