Newark Army Reserve Center

Pike provided design-build services for the Armed Forces Reserve Center in Newark, Delaware.

The facility includes three buildings: a training center, organizational maintenance shop, and unheated storage building. The total square footage for the facility is 73,000 SF. The project included demolition of existing structures and site clearing to facilitate new construction. This project received LEED Silver certification.

Buildings consist of permanent construction with reinforced concrete foundations, concrete floor slab, structural steel frames, masonry veneer walls, standing seam metal roof, HVAC systems, plumbing, mechanical systems, security systems, and electrical systems. Supporting facilities include land clearing, paving, fencing, general site improvements, and extension of utilities to serve the project. Force protection measures were incorporated into design including maximum standoff distance from roads, parking areas, and vehicle unloading areas.
