Noyes Memorial Hospital, ED Expansion
Pike provided construction management at risk services for the renovations and new addition to upgrade the Noyes Memorial Hospital Emergency Services Department. The project included a new 10,270 square feet, single story addition along with a 3,064 square feet renovation to the existing emergency department into a new observation area.
Construction aspects of the project included selective demolition to portions of the existing 1973 and 1992 facilities as required to extend utilities services and structural tie-ins to the new addition. Pike provided planning and implementations of a safety and logistics program so that patients, visitors and staff could continue to access a main drop off area, pick up and entry to the north end of the hospital, adjacent to the construction site. The scope of work included: major relocation of site utilities which included the main water service and storm piping to the hospital, site clearing, new/modified parking lot, excavation/backfill, concrete foundations, structural steel, fireproofing, EPDM roofing, exterior framing/sheathing, brickwork, glass and glazing, and MEP systems. Interior renovations consisted of selective demolition, reconstruction of interior partitions, mechanical/electrical systems and new interior finishes.
Pike completed all the new work and modifications while managing the construction activities so as to limit any interruptions to the hospital’s daily operations.
