Oxford Compressor Station
Pike provided construction services for the installation of a new mainline compressor station in Oxford, Connecticut.
This station includes two new Mars-100 Turbine-compressors rated at 15,000 HP each and one new Taurus 60 turbine-compressor rated at 7,700 HP with all associated ancillary equipment, instrumentation and controls, modification of the existing pipeline to tie-in new suction and discharge headers, new buildings, storage facilities, coolers, scrubbers, dryers and all necessary support infrastructure for the station.
The facility complies with required government and regulatory codes. The addition of this facility allows transmission to better meet capacity commitments with the increased throughout the new units provide.
All new piping was prefabricated in a controlled manufacturing and storage facility in Western New York. This prefabrication was conducted prior to starting the project to minimize on site construction durations. The existing main pipeline around the facility was excavated and recoated.
Pike provided a complete turnkey facility from site civil to all mechanical piping, electrical and commissioning for Spectra Energy’s mainline facility to be commercially operational on time.
