Construction management at risk services for the renovations and additions of the former Lakeside Hospital in Brockport, New York. After Lakeside Health System closed the former Lakeside Hospital, University of Rochester Medical Center purchased the space to continue to provide patient services to the Brockport area.
Phase 1 included numerous upgrades including a renovated lobby area, lab space, imaging areas, pharmacy, emergency department and conferences rooms. Another major renovation to the former facility was the ambulatory surgery center including a new air handling unit, ductwork, and OR upgrades. With phase 1 of the project being a complete success, Pike was awarded additional phases.
Phase 2 included the renovation to create a new Wilmot Cancer Institute, Interlake’s Oncology and Hematology and Brockport Medical Associates (primary care providers). Primary Care will go from 1,960 SF and four small exam rooms to 7,350 SF with seven large exam rooms which formerly served as in-patient rooms with two beds. Interlake’s new location on the second floor encompasses 3,601 SF with four large exam rooms. The six infusion chairs remained, but there is now much more space and brighter light from second-story windows. The new location also features one large private infusion room.
The middle section of the second floor includes a new nurses’ station, a locker room for staff as well as a bright new staff break room. Former in-patient rooms along the north side of the floor outside the oncology space will be used for physician offices. Phase 2 was completed on schedule.
Phase 3 of the project included MRI Department renovations.
